Rhona Simpson Hockey

Personal best to me means that you strive to do everything you possibly can to be the best you can be. Paying attention to detail and taking care of the little things then the big things will take care of themselves.

About me

After embarking on a show jumping career, at secondary school I then discovered a new sport - hockey. Aged 14, I debuted for my country with a lifetime ambition to compete in an Olympic Games.

I suffered two severe injuries but undeterred, I focussed on the Sydney Olympics and my dedication paid off when I was chosen to represent Great Britain.

represented Scotland in over 200 matches and still hold the record for the most goals scored.

Since retiring in 2007, I has been involved in sports administration and currently Chair the Athletes Advisory Commission for the Commonwealth Games Federation.
