Georgina Black Weightlifting

Make sure you prepare and work hard to achieve your goal, because if you fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

About me

I started lifting when I was 12 years old and loved the sport.

I started training twice weekly and eventually was picked for the Scotland Elite Squad, which increased my training to four times weekly. I love weightlifting as a sport because I thrive in an individual sport but I also love the feeling of being part of a team at every competition. It's such a quick sport which can be over in the blink of an eye, which adds to the excitement.

Weightlifting has allowed me to travel to countries I could only have dreamed of visiting, this is also why I love my sport
